I found a really interesting website that is run by the Discovery channel. The website is: http://school.discoveryeducation.com/teachingtools/teachingtools.html. It has many tools that teachers can use to make quizzes, crossword puzzles, word searches, etc. The programs can be purchased on the website and there are many different types of teaching programs. They come as CD-ROM's and range from $60-$70.
I think that buying one of these programs would be very beneficial to a teacher because it is something that you will probably use for a while. For example, if a teacher were to buy the word search CD-ROM, they could make different word searches for each unit that they teach. Even if a teacher moves from teaching first to second grade, it is still a program that can be used.
A skill that I would like to become better at, is Excel. I have the most trouble with this program and I did the worst on the skill check with Excel. The thing that confuses me the most about this program are the functions. Sometimes I am not exactly sure what to type in and that can mess up a whole worksheet.
I really hope to continue taking computer classes in the future. I'm sure I will have access to classes in grad school and I will definitely take advantage of that. The first thing I will concentrate on is becoming better at Excel!
